What You’ll Do

As an Auto Field Appraiser , you’ll play a key role in evaluating automobile and specialty vehicle claims to ensure timely, fair, and accurate resolutions. You’ll represent Missouri Farm Bureau with professionalism and integrity, providing trusted service in the field and through direct interaction with members and repair facilities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting on-site field inspections and detailed appraisals of vehicle damage
  • Determining coverage applicability and adjudicating claims within your authority level
  • Documenting investigations and maintaining accurate case files
  • Negotiating with repair facilities and ensuring compliance with company standards
  • Coordinating salvage and subrogation recovery processes
  • Assisting with storm, catastrophe, and liability inspections as needed
  • Staying up to date on trends in vehicle technology and repair methods
  • Delivering excellent customer service and representing Missouri Farm Bureau with professionalism

Requirements to Succeed

  • Entry Level:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • Knowledge and experience in the automobile industry preferred
  • Intermediate Level:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in estimating and appraising auto damage
  • Completion of AIC Core Courses (or 4 years of related experience)

  • Senior Level:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in auto damage appraisal
  • Completion of the AIC designation (or 8 years of related experience)

  • Valid Missouri driver’s license and ability to travel with overnight stays
  • Ability to lift 50–75 pounds and perform physical inspections in varied environments
