Position Title: Director of Sales

Location: San Francisco Bay Area 

Department: Catering 

Reports to: CMO

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $120,000 annually
  • Anticipated Commission: $110,000 annually
  • Total Expected Annual Compensation: $230,000

Job Summary

Global Gourmet Catering (“global”) is the San Francisco Bay Area’s leading large scale special event food and beverage services provider. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales to lead our account management team while also actively driving revenue growth for our business. This role requires a hands-on leader who can both manage, mentor, and develop the sales team and personally engage in sales activities to secure key business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate catering sales, a proven track record of exceeding revenue targets, and excellent leadership skills to drive team performance.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Team Management:

  • Manage, and develop a high-performing 7 person sales team

  • Set clear performance goals, sales targets, and KPIs for team members

  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance evaluations to enhance team productivity

  • Foster a positive, motivated, and results-driven sales culture

  • Manage the teams business development and client retention efforts

Sales and Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in the corporate event market

  • Generate leads through networking, cold calling, and industry events

  • Conduct sales presentations, site visits, and tastings to prospective clients

  • Close deals to meet or exceed sales targets

Sales Strategy, Execution & Client Experience:

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and sales performance data to refine strategies

  • Collaborate with CMO on promotional campaigns, sales materials, and strategic client outreach events

  • Work in conjunction with CMO to strategize and close key account sales

  • Champion, role model, and ensure delivery of superior client care across all sales touch points

Cross-Department Collaboration:

  • Partner with CMO to ensure smooth service delivery and guest satisfaction

  • Align sales efforts with company-wide business objectives and long-term goals

  • Represent the company at events, industry events, and networking opportunities

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in a sales leadership role

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a sales team

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze sales data, forecast trends, and implement effective strategies

  • Hands-on sales expertise, including business development and client relationship management

  • Strong ability to identify, engage, and close sales 

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated with a proactive sales approach

  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets

Compensation
