Summary Of Role

Under the direction of the Associate Executive Pastor of Spiritual Formation, serve as Emmanuel Churchs subject matter expert on adult small groups, host team, assimilation, and spiritual formation at Emmanuel Church.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Establish and champion the vision for the adult Small Groups ministry, aligning with the churchs mission, culture, and values
  • Assess, develop, and support systems and strategies for the continued growth of adult small groups
  • Provide support for the creation of suggested messages and strategies for campus leaders in relation to groups registration, ongoing leader training and leader recruitment
  • Write weekly small group questions based off weekend service messages
  • Work closely with Media & Marketing to support the execution of small group launches
  • Approve curriculum and new group types for small groups
  • Lead the execution of church-wide groups events

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Small Groups

  • Establish and champion the vision for the adult Small Groups ministry, aligning with the churchs mission, culture, and values
  • Assess, develop, and support systems and strategies for the continued growth of adult small groups
  • Provide support for the creation of suggested messages and strategies for campus leaders in relation to groups registration, ongoing leader training and leader recruitment
  • Write weekly small group questions based off weekend service messages
  • Lead centralized groups team meetings (as needed)
  • Work closely with Media & Marketing to support the execution of small group launches
  • Approve curriculum and new group types for small groups
  • Lead the execution of church-wide groups events

Host Team

  • Establish and champion the vision for the Host Team ministry, aligning weekend hospitality with the churchs mission, culture, and values
  • Create, update, and document systems, processes, and best practices for Host Team operations, ensuring excellence and alignment across all campuses
  • Develop, and execute when requested, training for campus Host Team leaders. To be used for impact team onboarding and other training opportunities
  • Train and support campus Host Team leaders through regular communication
  • Monitor execution of Host Team responsibilities across campuses during weekend services through feedback and observation when needed
  • Collaborate with campus staff to ensure consistent implementation of campus constants and experience standards

Spiritual Formation

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all campus spiritual formation functions (new here, small groups, new believers, baptism, etc.)
  • Leads the execution of church-wide spiritual formation events
  • Partner with other centralized staff when necessary for coordination and execution of church-wide initiatives

General Duties

  • Provide guidance to centralized ministry leaders and campus staff on issues and initiatives related to groups, host team, new here, assimilation, and discipleship
  • Operate on a rotation of attending every Emmanuel campus for connecting with campus staff and attendees
  • Other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications And Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or college degree
  • Two years of prior experience in management or leadership position is preferred

Knowledge And Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with multi-team project management and experience in conflict resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational/administrative skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to learn and use Emmanuels systems (Rock, Planning Center, etc.) and learn and adapt to new technology
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner, self-motivated
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when handling personal and ministry information
  • Demonstrate with spiritual maturity and sensitivity

Spiritual Requirements

  • Champion the vision of Emmanuel Church
  • Foster and promote a healthy staff culture by adhering to the Emmanuel Staff Behavioral Values
  • Willingness to regularly participate in Emmanuel Church activities and events
  • Agreement to abide by Emmanuel Churchs Expectations of a Staff Member which include:
    • Financial support of the church with your tithe (10% of household income)
    • Attend one weekend service each week and monthly staff meetings
    • Participate in community through small group
    • Prioritize a Sabbath (one 24-hour period of time off work each week)
