Job: Instructional Designer I

Location: Hybrid – Pensacola, FL

Work Authorization: US Citizens, Green Card Holders, TN Visa, Green Card EADs

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Instructional Designer to develop and enhance engaging learning experiences that align with organizational goals. This role involves designing effective training programs and content that support employee performance and growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of instructional design methodologies, e-learning tools, and adult learning theories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and business units to design and develop effective learning solutions.
  • Conduct needs assessments and performance gap analyses to recommend customized training interventions.
  • Create engaging instructional materials, including instructor-led training (ILT), virtual ILT (VILT), and self-paced eLearning modules.
  • Design courses using tools such as Articulate Storyline and Rise , and integrate multimedia and graphic elements to enhance learning experiences.
  • Develop instructional strategies that promote knowledge retention and behavioral change.
  • Evaluate course effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and analytics; implement improvements based on data.
  • Manage and update learning content within the Learning Management System (LMS); assign training and generate custom reports.
  • Maintain training materials throughout their lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business objectives and learner needs.
  • Support internal teams with training on course delivery methods and instructional tools.
  • Deliver presentations to stakeholders, including leadership, on instructional design initiatives and results.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or equivalent education.
  • Design Expertise:
  • Proficient in eLearning tools : Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Creative Suite, and multimedia development software.
  • Advanced knowledge of instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning theory .
  • Experience converting instructor-led courses into engaging self-paced modules.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Skilled in using and managing LMS platforms (e.g., Workday, Moodle).
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite and learning analytics tools.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to present complex information in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Competencies

  • Effective project management and time management skills.
  • Experience developing training for diverse employee audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable presenting to and interacting with all levels of an organization.
