The Opportunity

Roche’s Clinical Development organization is structured by therapeutic area and is responsible for developing and executing late development (Phase II – III) clinical strategies that deliver medically-differentiated therapies providing meaningful improvements to patients.

The Lead Medical Director contributes to the development of the Clinical Development (CD) strategy and plan and oversees effective execution for the assigned molecule(s)/indication(s).

• Support the development and implementation of the Clinical Development Plan (CDP) for assigned molecule(s)/indication(s), including data gathering and analysis.
• Collaborate with internal/external partners and multidisciplinary teams, including business development, research, commercial, legal, etc.
• Participate in meetings and reviews for early development/Phase I studies, providing clinical science input and guidance, including review of Phase I & II protocols.
• Demonstrate experience in Phase II - III drug development.
• Contribute to regulatory filings and documentation, including developing label and packaging language.
• Ensure alignment of the CD plan with broader strategies and work with teams on components like analytics, KOL development, and publications.

This position is based in South San Francisco, CA, or Boston, MA. Relocation benefits are not offered.

Who You Are:

• MD/MBBS, MD/PhD, with 3+ years clinical experience.
• Board Certified in Hematology and/or Oncology and/or Pediatric Oncology.
• Experience in Hematologic Malignancies clinical trials and development.
• Strong data analysis, interpretation, and clinical relevance skills.
• 4+ years of late-stage clinical development experience in pharma/biotech, including designing and conducting trials.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred:

• Late-stage clinical development in Hematologic Malignancies and/or Oncology.
• Experience as a clinical development lead, with innovative thinking and mentorship skills.
• Knowledge of various clinical trial designs (e.g., accelerated approval, pivotal, breakthrough).
• Understanding of the drug development process in pharma/biotech.
• Experience publishing scientific studies.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, with ability to build relationships internally and externally.

The salary range is $231,980 - $430,820, based on location and experience, with potential bonuses. Benefits are available as detailed in the provided link.
