As a Manufacturing Engineer at Kesseböhmer Ergonomie of America, you'll play a key role in bringing innovative, German-designed products to life in the North American market—supporting everything from product development and supplier collaboration to quality improvements and production support.

Kesseböhmer Ergonomie of America is a division of the Kesseböhmer Group GmbH, a privately held $700M global manufacturer headquartered in Germany. We design and produce mechanical and pneumatic height-adjustable systems used in the contract furniture industry. With manufacturing facilities in Michigan and North Carolina, we serve a growing customer base across North America. What You’ll Do
Product & Process Engineering
• Design, document, and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and related ERP data
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to define technical requirements for new products and customer-driven solutions
• Develop and oversee product testing protocols, internally or with third-party labs
• Coordinate with suppliers to prototype, price, and produce new components or assemblies
• Translate European specifications to meet North American norms and standards
Technical & Quality Support
• Serve as a resource for internal teams, suppliers, and customers on product quality and performance
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues
• Develop and document production work instructions and test procedures
• Recommend best practices for improving manufacturability, consistency, and cost-efficiency
• Contribute to maintaining and improving quality systems
Project & Data Management
• Maintain technical documentation and work instructions in ERP and other systems
• Administer and support project tracking tools
• Monitor project timelines and budgets, ensuring deliverables are met on schedule
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
• Identify opportunities for process improvements or design enhancements
• Help introduce new products into production efficiently and with high quality
• Provide ongoing support to shop floor and production teams
What We’re Looking For
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field)
Experience
• Minimum 4 years in a manufacturing engineering, product development, or related role
• Hands-on knowledge of mechanical systems, component-level inspection, and repair
• Experience working with quality management systems
• Exposure to high-mix, low-volume environments preferred
Skills & Abilities
• Proficiency with 3D CAD systems
• Strong technical documentation and ERP data management skills
• Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities
• Strong communication skills; able to work cross-functionally with global teams
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments
• Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs occasionally and navigate a shop floor safely
• Ability to perform essential job duties with or without accommodations
• Infrequent domestic and/or international travel may be required
