Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to provide engineering support in an Agile development environment for the Tomahawk program. As part of a Scrum team, you will be performing software design, implementation, and test, documentation, and defect analysis, as well as CI/CD pipeline development. This is a journeyman-to-senior level position requiring a minimum of 5 years of professional experience. Must be willing to work on-site at Dahlgren Naval Base 4+ days/week.

Travel: Likely none. Clearance:

An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Requirements:
  • Significant experience using Java or JavaFX in a professional setting
  • Familiarity with the use of Linux as a development and target platform
  • Knowledge of git or GitLab for version control
Responsibilities:

Automated test applications developer role:

  • work with a Scrum team to implement requested features, perform causal analysis, and resolve defects
  • development and maintenance of CI/CD pipeline
  • update and maintain user documentation

Analysis of alternatives research role :

  • work with a Scrum team to develop prototypes for a set of middleware options using a provided plugin framework
  • use the provided framework to analyze and evaluate the middleware options (for example, latency and throughput)
  • document difficulties with the implementation and track effort involved
  • contribute to a final report detailing the analysis
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Familiarity with the development and employment of CI/CD pipelines for automated build and test
  • Working knowledge of C++
Education: A BS in a STEM field is required. Compensation:

Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.

 

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $85,000 to $167,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
