Job description:

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Service Manager to lead our service operations in Central Florida. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a proven background in commercial roofing and a passion for delivering top-quality service to clients. You will oversee daily service operations, mentor a team of technicians, and serve as a trusted point of contact for customers.

Key Responsibilities

Service Operations Management

• Manage and coordinate all commercial roofing service requests, including repairs, maintenance, inspections, and small projects.
• Drive service work to completion on schedule, within budget, and to industry-leading quality standards.
• Oversee inventory of service materials and equipment, ensuring availability and proper maintenance.

Team Leadership & Development

• Supervise, coach, and mentor a team of service technicians.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and foster a safe, productive, and positive work environment.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and company policies.

Customer Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for service clients, addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and ensuring satisfaction.
• Communicate clearly with clients regarding project progress, recommendations, and costs.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships as a trusted advisor.

Estimating & Quoting

• Conduct detailed roof inspections to assess damage and identify required work.
• Prepare accurate, competitive estimates and proposals.
• Present solutions to clients, clearly explaining scope of work, costs, and long-term benefits.

Quality Control & Compliance

• Implement and enforce quality control standards for all service work.
• Champion safety and compliance, ensuring all work meets or exceeds local, state, and federal regulations as well as industry standards.
• Conduct post-service inspections to confirm quality and client satisfaction.

Administrative & Reporting

• Maintain detailed service records, including work orders, invoices, and material usage.
• Provide regular reports on service department performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction to support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with sales, project management, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications

Experience

• 5–7 years of commercial roofing experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Proven experience managing service operations and technician teams.

Technical Skills

• In-depth knowledge of commercial roofing systems (TPO, PVC, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, Built-Up).
• Strong understanding of repair techniques, maintenance best practices, and diagnostics.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

Managerial Skills

• Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
• Skilled in problem-solving and confident decision-making.

Communication Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.

Other Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift heavy materials as needed.
• Proficiency with CRM, project management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
