As a Security Professional - Utility Patrol - Overnight Shift in Santa Barbara, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities and more .

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment at a utilities location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols of the premises, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and providing outstanding customer service to everyone you encounter. You will be expected to communicate clearly and professionally, respond to incidents as they arise, and support access control procedures as needed. This position may involve working in areas with limited on-site facilities, such as rustic guard shacks or portable restrooms, and requires comfort with using computers or tablets for reporting and communication. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the utility location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or access.
• Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points as required by site procedures.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and/or irregularities encountered during patrols.
• Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and staff while representing Allied Universal at the utility location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience working at sites with limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or rustic guard shacks is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
