Summary

The Manager of Maintenance Services manages the Mobile Maintenance operation for an assigned area. Responsibilities include recruiting, developing, and mentoring Maintenance Specialists (MS), managing profitability metrics, representing Ryder in meetings, and ensuring customer needs are met while balancing financial, operational, safety, and quality targets. The role requires results-oriented leadership and business acumen.

Essential Functions

1. Operations Management: Achieve profitability goals, perform equipment inspections, and ensure resource availability.
2. Labor Management: Recruit, onboard, train, and manage technicians; develop technical training plans.
3. Customer Management: Monitor customer interactions, ensure service delivery and technician productivity.
4. Financial Management: Control costs, manage budgets, process invoices, and maximize warranty recovery.
5. Asset Management: Oversee vehicle maintenance, inventory, and asset utilization.
6. Quality Management: Conduct inspections, root cause analyses, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Skills and Abilities

• Professional representation and effective communication.
• Understanding of labor, financial, safety, and asset metrics.
• Strong personal accountability and results orientation.
• Proficiency in reporting systems and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
• 3+ years in maintenance operations and shop environment.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and financial literacy required.

Compensation:

Salary range: $80,000 - $85,000 with potential bonuses and benefits.
